Editorial & Content Policy

Last updated: October 3, 2026.

1. Our mission

We cover and celebrate local businesses and organizations. Our editorial mission is to edify — to help good local businesses get found, understood, and supported. We do not publish content intended to harm any business or organization.

2. How we source fact-based content

  • Coverage of real businesses and organizations is based on public records, publicly available data, or what the business or organization has published about itself (its website, social media, press releases, public filings).
  • We cite or link our sources where practical.
  • Factual claims are checked before publishing. When we get something wrong, we correct it — see §6.

3. Opinion and perspective

  • Commentary, criticism, and opinion are presented as perspective — ours, honestly held, grounded in the facts as we found them.
  • We distinguish fact reporting from opinion in how we write and label content.

4. Fictionalized content

Some of our shows and stories are fiction or fictionalized: inspired by real life but with names, faces, places, and details changed. For these works:

  • “This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, businesses, places, and events are products of our imagination or used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual persons, businesses, or events is coincidental.”
  • Per-format versions: video descriptions and podcast show notes carry this notice; episodes may state it in the intro.

A changed name alone does not make a portrayal fictional. If a reasonable viewer could still identify a real business or person from the remaining details, we treat the piece as commentary subject to our fact standards in §2: no false or damaging claims about an identifiable real subject. When in doubt, we make the subject genuinely unidentifiable or keep the portrayal truthful and non-damaging.

5. Real businesses, real facts

When we name a real business or organization, we stick to factual, sourced information — things they put online about themselves or that are publicly available. We do not invent quotes, events, or conduct and attribute them to real businesses.

6. Corrections

  • Minor errors (typos, broken links): fixed directly.
  • Substantive errors: corrected with a dated correction note appended to the piece. We do not silently rewrite published reporting.
  • Report an error: nextclickinsiders@graylandcommerce.click. We review every report.

7. Right of reply

A business or organization covered in our content may send a response for publication consideration to nextclickinsiders@graylandcommerce.click. We review all requests in good faith.

8. Our stories are proprietary

Our stories, show formats, characters, and perspectives are original works belonging to Gray Land Commerce, protected by copyright. See our Copyright & DMCA Policy.
