Gray Land News | October 2026
FACT: The first business to say “yes, please” to a free NeighborClick Local listing was JGE Construction & Services of Dansville — and they didn’t send a question back. They sent everything: their services, their hours, their phone number, ready to be listed. That is exactly the kind of business the Founding 76 was named for.
COMMENTARY: Every alliance starts with a first yes. This one came from a family-owned crew that has been washing homes and cleaning gutters for over 30 years.
The Argument
A local directory is only as good as the businesses in it, and an alliance is only as real as its first members. JGE Construction & Services is the kind of operation a community alliance exists to make findable: family-owned, working seven days a week, answering its own phone, and serving homes within a 60-mile radius of Dansville. They were the first to claim a founding spot — not because they needed the listing most, but because they understood it fastest. Businesses like this are the foundation. The Founding 76 is being built around them.
What They Do
FACT: In their reply to the directory invitation, JGE listed their services plainly: hot water power washing, gutter cleaning, gutter repairs, gutter covers, gutter installation, and drain cleanings.
FACT: Their website adds the fuller picture — hot water power and soft washing, gutter and downspout cleaning, gutter repair, gutter guard installation, professional window cleaning, and lawn care, for homes and commercial properties.
COMMENTARY: It is the unglamorous work that protects a house. Clogged gutters rot fascia. Neglected siding loses years. A crew that does this work on a seven-day schedule is not a luxury service — it is home maintenance with a phone number.
Dansville Based, Two-State Reach
FACT: JGE Construction & Services is based in Dansville, Michigan, and serves a 60-mile radius around it. The company also serves areas surrounding Londonderry, New Hampshire, within a 60-mile radius of that location.
FACT: On their website, the company describes itself as family-owned — “from one family to another” — OSHA-certified, insured, and licensed, with over 30 years working in the industry. A preferred provider of gutter cleaning services in Dansville for years, in their words.
COMMENTARY: Two home bases, one family standard. That is a bigger operation than the word “local” usually carries — and it started with the same thing every founding member starts with: showing up and doing the work right.
Open Seven Days
FACT: JGE is open 7 days a week, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Phone: 517-480-2299. Website: www.jgeconstructionllc.com. Their free NeighborClick Local listing is live in the directory under Pressure Washing Service, with their services, hours, and contact details — and, like every member listing, it can be updated any time they ask.
COMMENTARY: Seven days a week is a statement about who the business serves. Homeowners discover gutter problems on Saturdays. JGE’s schedule already knows that.
Founding Member
JGE Construction & Services holds a founding spot in the NeighborClick alliance — the Founding 76, the businesses who said yes first and helped shape what this becomes. Their listing is live, their welcome pack is on its way, and when member co-op promotions and joint marketing open up, the founding members hear about them first.
Welcome in, JGE.
